Passport Services

Passports for adults

Body The American Citizen Services Section at the Consulate General accepts applications to renew expiring or expired passports or replace passports that have been lost, stolen, or mutilated (damaged).

Applicants wishing to renew passports should submit:

Embassies and Consulates overseas no longer issue full validity passports. Overseas posts accept passport applications and electronically forward them to the National Passport Center in the United States. The full validity passport is then sent back to the Consulate to be issued to the applicant. The turn around time for this process is usually 5-7 calendar days.

In cases where the applicant must travel urgently or has an immediate need for a passport, the Consulate can issue an "emergency passport" which is valid for one year. This passport is valid for all travel. This "emergency passport" can be exchanged later for a full validity passport at an embassy or consulate overseas or at a Passport Agency in the United States.

Please review the Schedule of Fees to see costs associated with passport issuance for adults.

All payments for services rendered can be made in cash in American dollars or the equivalent in Russian rubles. We are accepting credit transactions on the following credit cards: Visa, Master card, Discover, American Express, Diner’s. No other credit cards will be accepted.
