American Corners and Centers
The IRC supports seven American Centers and Corners program in Northwest Russia (for contact information and calendar of events of each American Corner in the region, please click here). American Corners represent partnerships between the U.S. Mission and local libraries. These American Corners provide students, teachers, professionals, and U.S. Government exchange program alumni with accurate and up-to-date information about political, economic, cultural, educational, and social life in the United States. All seven American Corners located in the largest regional libraries represent a major outreach platform for the Consulate within the consular region. The IRC provides Corners with targeted information and research materials for programs and visitors. To get more information on the American Corner program, please visit the http://amcorners.ru.
Each American Corner offers access to book collections about the United States, English-language literature, U.S. journals, as well as audio and video resources. They circulate books and invite customers to take part in their English-language discussion clubs, watch films and documentaries.
